The Part 1 Training Programme will be structured typically over a 6 to 8 week period. The majority of  Part 1 will be completed as a home study course which will be monitored weekly in class with a fully qualified ORDIT Trainer, who will resolve any problems you may have. You will be trained to use our hazard perception computer programme along with in-car hazard perception training. We will incorporate interpretation of the DL25, the Driving Test Report. On completion of the training course you will be given mock tests which will highlight where you may be experiencing difficulties. These areas will be rectified before your test. You will also be monitored weekly through your own personal Progress Record. This will enable you to see your performance from week to week.

All Part 1 training is carried out by fully qualified ORDIT Trainers. Your Trainer will be on call by phone or e-mail.

Happy Hour also have a well tried and proven distance learning program for Part 1 for those living outwith easy travelling distance of either of our offices.

Part 2

Our courses are tailored to suit your needs.

Part 2 training and testing can be carried out in either your own or your Trainer’s car. All Trainees will be allocated to one of our local ORDIT Trainers. After carrying out a driver assessment the Happy Hour Trainer will set up your training programme. A training record will be completed after every training session. This will help you to keep a track of your own personal development.

Your training will be broken into three categories:

  • system of car control
  • road procedure
  • hazard recognition

By the end of your training you will not only be well prepared for your Part 2 test but will also be familiar with the structure required for Part 3.

Part 3

Part 3 training can be carried out in either your own or your Trainer’s car. All Trainees will be allocated one of our local ORDIT Trainers. The Happy Hour Trainer will set up your training programme. You will also be given a Happy Hour Training Manual to assist you. A training record will be completed after every training session.  This will help you to keep a track of your own personal development.

Happy Hour has a well structured training programme which will help you to teach in the real world. We will train you how to match your lesson plan to suit your route planning.

Your training will be broken into three categories:

  • system of car control
  • road procedure
  • testing (PST's)

Once you have completed the training programme you will be introduced to the Preset Tests (PST’s).  You will not be trained using PST 1 to 10. The purpose of the PST is to assess you once you have been trained. At Happy Hour you will be trained first then we will carry out the PST assessments. There will be further assessments carried out with other ORDIT Trainers. This is to create the test environment to prepare you for the actual test.
